Wildlife & Rural Crime Week of Action
Northants CALC is proud to be a partner working with Northamptonshire Police and will be posting news items from parishes around Northamptonshire who have taken action to reduce crime in their areas.
WOODFORD HALSE REPORT:
Carl Barton, our PSCSO, has been part of our village for the past 3 years. During this time he has become intertwined with the daily life of this rural community.
Our PCSO is particularly important to those of our community who still remember the village bobby of old and his high viz presence is of great reassurance to them as it is to all of us.
Importantly, the justification for our PCSO does not only lie with the merits of the social benefits he brings. During the time he has been patrolling our streets and facilities crime has reduced year by year which is clearly and unequivocally demonstrated by the following statistics:-
2017 (Year 1) 41 reported crimes
2018 (year 2) 38 reported crimes
2019 (year 3) 26 reported crimes – 9 months
The above numbers must be put in the context of a village which has grown by approximately 25% over this period from a population of circa 4000 to 5000 souls.
Carl Barton is admired, respected and most certainly needed in this growing community.
