Our Leicestershire Colleagues are Looking for a Deputy CEO

Leicestershire & Rutland Association of Local Councils

Deputy Chief Executive (Training & Advice)

Circa £29,000 (pro-rata) depending upon experience. 30 hrs per week (potential to become full-time) & attractive pension (9% employer contribution).

This exciting new role within Leicestershire and Rutland Association of Local Councils (LRALC) is a permanent position and will be a key role in assisting the Association to continue to develop and grow its business activities following our transition to a limited company in April 2018. The post comes with attractive terms and conditions, including a work place pension.

The post holder will normally be required to work 30 hours per week, including regular evening and occasional weekend working. Working patterns are flexible and will be discussed at interview and with the successful candidate, including the possibility for some home working.

The role will be based at the LRALC office in Anstey, but remote working and travel will very much be part of the role. Training will be offered to the successful applicant.

The Deputy Chief Executive (Training & Advice) will report to the Chief Executive of LRALC and will lead on the planning and implementation of the LRALC training programme and delivery of the LRALC advice service for member parish and town councils, and parish meetings within the counties of Leicestershire and Rutland. There will also be responsibilities for other key areas of LRALC service delivery, as well as working closely with and deputising for the Chief Executive.

LRALC is going through a period of sustained growth and change. We wish to appoint a driven and dedicated individual to help develop LRALC during this exciting phase of its life. The LRALC Chief Executive's time will become increasingly spent on organisational and strategic development matters, and the new post holder will need to ensure the high quality of current provision in their areas of responsibility are maintained and enhanced. Initial targets will be set and will be reviewed and revised throughout the lifetime of the post.
