Localism Training Day
COURSE TUTOR: Elisabeth Skinner FILCM (University of Gloucester)
This one-day event will introduce key aspects of the Localism Act 2011 for local councils. It provides an opportunity to discuss the implications of the Act including the general power of competence, neighbourhood planning, community rights and changes to the standards regime. We aim to establish the principle of localism, to examine the question of capacity and resources and reflect on the opportunities that are offered. The course content is specifically developed for the local council sector, unlike similar events offered elsewhere which are often aimed at larger District/Borough and County Councils, or are delivered from their perspective.
