Aim:

The aim of these sessions will be to provide parish councils with information and guidance to be able to support themselves and their community in the times of a wide-spread emergency, such as extremes of weather, flooding or utility failure.

Emergencies don't happen very often, this means it is very hard to try to get the enthusiasm of people and communities to give this the support it needs. Let's be honest we all have busy lives and if doesn't look like it will affect us then why should we? Just think back on the last year and think what has happened in the UK and more local to us, flooding, power cuts and incidents that have required communities to be evacuated from their homes. By having simple procedures in place in communities the emergencies can be managed better and people will know what to do. We aspire to have every community in Northamptonshire to have a plan, so that they are more resilient and prepared.
