CiLCA discount for Daventry Clerks

Northants CALC has received a gift of money from Daventry Villages Together (DVT). DVT was formed by a group of parish councils in villages immediately surrounding the town of Daventry. It came together in 2003 to provide a collective response to the proposals in the draft Milton Keynes and South Midlands study, and subsequently participated in the public examination in 2004. Having completed its task, the group wound up several years ago and resolved to pass its remaining funds (£1,244.54) to Northants CALC to be used for the benefit of parish councils in the former Daventry district

The current fees for Certificate in Local Council Administration (CiLCA) can sometimes disadvantage smaller Councils and yet CiLCA is designed to suit Councils of all sizes. With this funding we would like to make CiLCA more affordable, particularly to those smaller councils, as a one off in 2022.

We are offering five clerks 50% off the CiLCA training fee for 2022. The CiLCA training fee is usually £495 creating a MASSIVE saving of £247.50.

Eligibility criteria
To ensure there is fairness in allocating this money there are some eligibility criteria that must be met:

  • The Clerk must:
    • work for a Council in the Daventry district
    • have at least 12 months experience in the sector
and
  • The Council has a precept of less than £25,000
If you think you meet the above criteria and would like to be considered for this one time offer of reduction in fee for CiLCA training please email mreilly@northantscalc.com

More information regarding CiLCA, the costs and what's involved can be found via this link https://www.northantscalc.com/about-cilca.html

In the unlikely event that the full allocation is not met in 2022 we will roll over any remaining funding to 2023.
