Ian Davison is a solicitor with the law firm Hedleys Solicitors specialising in parish council and local authority work. Ian has several decades of legal experience with parish, district and county councils and there's not much that he hasn't seen before! Ian will outline the basic concepts and constitution of a parish council and look at council structure including committees, sub-committees and working parties. If you want to understand the framework that underpins how your parish council works (or could work better!) then this is the session for you. Ian will also touch briefly on the standards framework, access to information and all the latest legal provisions under the Localism Act 2011. There will be plenty of time for discussion, so bring along your questions and benefit from years and years of experience and knowledge.
If you want to have your legal/constitutional/governance questions answered then book on this course – you won't be disappointed.
